The QC Engineer is a full-time position that is in constant interaction with the Quality Control Manager, Engineering and Operations.
This role frequently utilizes metrology equipment with a focus on the inspection of Endmills or other cutting tools.
The QC Engineer will also document non-conformances within all parts of the supply-chain process from tool quotation to physical delivery.
To be successful in this role, individuals must be detail oriented as they will regularly be asked to give accurate, timely, and meaningful feedback on all processes associated with Harvey's commitment to quality.
POSITION DETAILS:
As a Quality Control Engineer, you will:
Become proficiently knowledgeable in our products, current inspection, and quality processes of the Inspection Department.
Become familiar with Quality Control based modules of Prophet21 and/or any other ERP systems.
Identify manufacturing failures, and accurately document them through Production Return Forms.
Perform mechanical, physical, and visual inspection of tools to ensure conformance to specified requirements.
Utilize, troubleshoot, and create programs for the Zoller Genius.
Schedule or perform routine maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.
Utilize/Create (via SQL / Microsoft Power BI / Report Builder) dashboards to help derive or drive department metrics based upon Non-Conformance, Output, Department Goals, etc.
Assist in the improvement of SOPs, documentation and execution of all returns.
Support objectives, purchases, training or repairs that may require a visit to outside suppliers or equipment vendors.
Develop and oversee specified inspection training resources (Gage R&R, Failure Examples, 'Testing' for Trainees, etc.
).
WHAT YOU CAN BRING:
BS/BA preferred; or Equivalent Work Experience.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Experience with CNC Machining, Tooling or Grinding Processes greatly preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and other Windows-based software.
General Coding (SQL, VBA, Python, etc) experience preferred.
Travel Requirement (.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
